When you feel unable to handle stresses of life and you find yourself in the same situation over and over again, you end up feeling stuck. Our groups can help you unplug from technology, social media, distance learning, and promote reconnecting with peers. Now more than ever after a prolonged period of screen time coupled with isolation during the pandemic, connections matter.
We incorporate horses and our ranch landscape into a growth and learning experience. The horses play powerful characters in this narrative with their ability to act as a mirror and to demonstrate powerful metaphors through their herd dynamics. The program involves no riding, which creates a safe space for you to experience the horses as they relate to your specific and unique challenges and goals. Natural horsemanship, the language of equus and horse skills are incorporated throughout the experience.
EQUINE ASSISTED PSYCHOTHERAPY
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy provides a safe place to explore life’s challenges including anxiety and depression, addiction and recovery, PTSD, extreme stress and more. Our staff, including the herd of 8 horses, set the stage for our equine-assisted activities which are guided by EAGALA methodologies, natural horsemanship techniques and herd dynamics.
Learn to connect with yourself and understand your life story without judgement and in a safe space. Explore your struggles and possible solutions through your experience with the horses. Our approach is a professional mental health model. It is not recreational horsemanship, riding lessons, or therapeutic riding and does not involve riding at all.
